We’re so happy to share this fantastic video that Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation put together about this November’s Chinatown Connections parade. The parade and festival were an opportunity to raise visibility around safe pedestrian travel in traffic as children and seniors access their parks and schools in Chinatown while also connecting community members to each other and to this important issue. Check out the video and support the work they are doing to make Chinatown and it’s public spaces more accessible to the people who live there.

“We are a community organization. Spiral Q was our partner for a year-long project. It was a wonderful, energizing experience. Spiral Q is does not bring an artistic agenda, nor do they look to you to lead the conversation. They were there to help us think through our goals and articulate our community vision through the arts. They were organizers, cheerleaders and implementers. Our meetings were full of stories, laughter and PURPOSE. Spiral Q helped us think through our goals and stakeholder base – and then they were our partners in putting it all into action. As an underresourced non-profit and a marginalized community facing big challenges, we can’t afford any other kind of partner. As a result of our project, we feel like we are poised for the next step in tackling the issue – not only in project actions, but in developing a deeper, wider base to effect long-term change.” – Sarah Yeung, Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation
