MELISSA MCNAIR, she/they

 

Melissa MacNair is a sculptor, arts organizer, and nonprofit financial manager. After studying at the University of the Arts, Melissa transitioned to a career as a finance and operations consultant for several arts and culture organizations in Philadelphia. Currently, Melissa is the Senior Finance Manager at Movement Alliance Project. MAP is a nonprofit that creates resources for grassroots activists and community support groups. Melissa’s core values include providing financial resources to burgeoning community projects and evaluating equity practices within standard business and financial practices.

Melissa is co-captain of the Vaudevillains New Year’s Brigade, a social justice-oriented Mummers troupe and one of the only brigades led by queer women and gender nonconforming individuals. As their leader, Melissa is a core conceptual designer and lead fabricator in props and large puppets, as well as organizer for the group’s advocacy for inclusivity in the Mummers Parade at large. Melissa also serves as Board Treasurer for Headlong Dance Theater.
