Maisie O’Brien is a studio artist, teacher, printmaker, paleobotanical illustrator, and compulsive bread maker.  She lives and works in Philadelphia after finishing her BFA/Certificate education under the University of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  Although her puppet-related work began with a visual interest in folk performance and puppet-making, her puppet praxis greatly owes its influence to Spiral Q’s elbow grease-driven power to heal and provoke the vast Philly community.
