JENNIFER TURNBULL, mix it up

Jennifer is responsible for Spiral Q’s fiscal vitality, sustainability, and achievements toward its mission. She has worked with Spiral Q for 15 years and has been in this position for the past six years (first year as interim Executive Director). Working in partnership with the co-director, Turnbull sets the vision and strategic direction and ensures the organization’s success as a high performing organization that is well respected in its field. Jennifer has 26 years of experience teaching dance and visual art and 16 years specific to delivering integrated residency experiences as a teaching artist. An accomplished dance, theater and movement artist who has worked in Spiral Q’s education and community-based programs since 2008 as a program associate, teaching artist, community liaison, and performing artist, Turnbull balances a broad range of organizational, artistic, teaching, and community relations experience to her work at Spiral Q. Turnbull received a BA from Tufts University in 2002. Turnbull continues her education and engagement in the arts, nonprofit leadership training and teaching artist work. Notable mentions: co-facilitated 30 workshops with Nicole Canuso’s Being/with production premiered in the Fringe Festivals of 2020 and 2021, graduate of Bryn Mawr’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program (NELI) 2017, part of No New Rites producing original multidisciplinary performance works in collaboration with Marie Alarcon under Leeway Foundation’s Icebox Residency 2018. Turnbull also presented a talk for TEDx in the fall of 2019.
