At dawn this Halloween, thirty people emerged from a citywide curfew, to illuminate Black Philadelphia space, lives and legacies in Washington Square Park, once known as Congo Square. Watch and share this beautiful video of this first session of our new series, Rise & Reconcile: Light on Black Spaces; directed by Spiral Q’s Jennifer Turnbull. As we gather (a little), rest, eat and share, let us also collectively recognize and mourn the Indigenous massacre that this Thanksgiving tradition buries. Let us send all the love to our sibling peoples. We hope you are inspired.
