Elaine Arias is an undergraduate at Temple University pursuing a BFA degree in Printmaking. She chose to study art because she found that through art making her thoughts and feelings communicate more profoundly than with words. She discovered through art making a primitive quality that exists intuitively when using her hands to create, for example an oil painting. She connects that quality to a collective consciousness that is guiding her through the oil painting. That connection she feels with consciousness transcends human existence and the link is art making.

She observes that forming communities through art making aims to produce love by abandoning the effects of the ego. She believes that when people use art making in their communities, the combined forces creates a unity that enables each individual to act confidently.
