Claris Park

A former and recent student apprentice, Claris Park is excited to continue and deepen her work in supporting the Q’s mission and vision and the West Philadelphia community. Rooted in her previous work in student and community organizing and her love of visual arts and parade performance, her administrative support at the Q is filled with joy! An emerging actor, writer, and theater maker, Park enjoys exploring social issues and subtle absurdities in the blatantly mundane and ordinary situations we all find ourselves in and vice versa. Recently, Park and her collaborators took part in the Naked Angel’s Issue Project Lab at the New School to develop a new piece centered on the conflict between self-identity and public and social perception. As of 2018, the piece is in further development as a part of the Mini-Residency Program hosted by the Asian Arts Initiative (AAI) and Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists (PAPA). Recent acting credits include The Forest in Snow White Rose Red with the ReVamp CollectiveCelia in Trigger Warning, and the Philadelphia Young Playwrights’ 2017 Young Voices Monologue Festival. Park is also a 2017-2018 Season Apprentice at InterAct Theatre Company. Park holds a B.A. in Theatre and English from the University of Pennsylvania
