Spiral Q operates nearly 4,000 square feet of studios in which artists and community members design and construct giant parade puppets; make multitudes of masks; print and paint posters, banners, and flags; and produce puppet shows and pageants in all shapes and sizes. Relying almost entirely on the use of recycled, reclaimed, and reusable materials, Spiral Q’s artistic practices are driven by a commitment to sustainability, cultivate a greater sense of innovation and resourcefulness, and make the most of accessible materials and public spaces. Home to open workshops in support of creative community mobilization efforts, workshops for the grown and nearly grown, and art clubs for kids, Spiral Q’s Studios are a magical portal into the possible.
