PARADE BAND CAMP!
Make your own instruments and noise makers and be part of a home-grown marching band inspired by visits from the birds of the Philadelphia Zoo!

Session 2 (2 weeks)
July 14th-25^th
GIANT PUPPET CREATION!
Create animals of any and every species with Spiral Q Puppeteers. Study insects and mammals from the zoo, then make your own cardboard creatures!

Session 3
July 28^th – August 1^st
PARADE TEXTILES
Create parade flags, animal themed costumes, or even a costume for giant puppets from Session 2!

August 1^st:
CAMP-WIDE PARADE!
Featuring art created by campers. All campers and parents are invited and encouraged to attend!

The Spiral Q Puppet Theater seeks to mobilize communities and illuminate the victories, frustrations and possibilities of living in the neighborhoods of Philadelphia and similar urban settings through the construction of full-scale giant puppet parades, toy theater and neighborhood pageantry.

Through its puppet parades and pageants, Spiral Q is resurrecting and reclaiming an almost forgotten form of people's theater to amplify and unite the power and vitality of those working for change through art-making, protest, and civic theater.
