About the series
With the emergence of film technologies at the beginning of the last century film makers turned often to the most familiar forms of traditional arts and folk stories. Many times told in puppetry and object theater, these early films paved the way for a great collaborative tradition here in the U.S. and around the world. The monthly film series at the Spiral Q Puppet Theater will highlight the creation, documentation and collaboration of these works by puppeteers and film- makers. Spiral Q hosts a monthly Puppet film series in our studio, and at other locations throughout Philadelphia.
