Saturday, March 18th 1-4PM
at Art on the Avenue
3808 Lancaster Ave.

We’re kicking off group tours of Spiral Q at Art on the Avenue by inviting you, our Q community for an open house – featuring family friendly creative activities. We’ll be serving up a different activity every hour – see descriptions and timing below!

1:00 – 2:00: STORYTIME WITH SPIRAL Q!
Great for people ages 5-12. Young people will get an introduction to the shadow puppet form, make their own puppets out of recycled materials, and put on a short show!
*Please come on time so we can use the full hour for this dynamic program.*

2:00 – 3:00: MASK MAKING!
All ages. Make a mask using materials that can be found in your home. Creativity encouraged!
*Feel free to drop in anytime between 2:00 and 3:00 to make a mask!*

3:00 – 4:00: TOUR!
All ages (ideal ages 8 and up). Our puppet collection is a living document of twenty years of personal and collective stories of struggle, identity, and justice in Philadelphia. We’ll learn about Spiral Q’s history, talk about why and how to make puppets, and get close-up looks at lots of puppets from our collection!
*Tour will start at 3:00, so please come on time to get the full experience!*

This is a free event, but donations are appreciated!

RSVP at our Facebook event here to help us get an estimated attendance.

All of these activities (and more!) are available for hire as well. You can book a tour and workshop for your group by emailing community@spiralq.org or calling 215-222-6979 – rates are on a sliding scale.
