Giant puppets and artwork made by Spiral Q’s Blankenburg Elementary and Inquiry Charter School 4th grade puppet artists will be on exhibition at Art on the Avenue this June!
This Spring, Students at Blankenburg Elementary and Inquiry Charter School connected history and civic engagement to personal experience through learning about the Harlem Renaissance and building giant puppets of real and imaginary inspirational figures in their lives. Their residencies culminated in school-wide “SPARQ the next Renaissance” neighborhood parades. Fourth graders collaborated to create and reflect the arts, artists and issues they want represented in the next renaissance of their generation!
